A classic never dates


The story goes that it was Marshal Mannerheim who first brought the vorschmack recipe to Savoy, a dish that has since become a staple in Finnish cooking and Savoy.


The recipe combines minced lamb and beef with herring – a combination that may sound daring but magically works, decade after decade. Our house vorschmack is still made following the traditional recipe and stewed over low heat for 36–48 hours.
